Announcing March Recipients for the Seleni Scholarship for Maternal Mental Health Professionals

March 2021 – New York, NY - Seleni is pleased to announce the March round of recipients for its Scholarship for Maternal Mental Health Professionals for 2021. Here are a few shared stories from recipients of how this training will help them in positively impacting their communities:

“My community will have another advocate and ally in mental health. [As] a Black woman who understands what it means to feel stigmatized…I want to be a resource to others and be seen as a viable resource within my birth community, my cultural community and amongst my peers in the mental health community.”

“I want to continue to be a positive and empowering resource to women and families as I didn’t have that after my first and second loss.”

“My motivation is to gain a deeper understanding of PMADs in order to better service my community and to be a better advocate in the field. I want all women, irrespective of race to feel held and supportive…prioritizing and focusing on black and brown communities will have a large impact on black and brown families, communities and children, which will ultimately benefit all communities.”
