Seleni's June Recipients for the Scholarship for Maternal Mental Health Professionals

June 2021 – New York, NY - In honor of Global Parents Day and this Father’s Day, Seleni is pleased to announce the June round of recipients for its Scholarship for Maternal Mental Health Professionals for 2021.

Our team continues to be inspired by the dedication of our scholarship recipients. This round of scholars spoke passionately in their applications about their motivation behind their work. One scholar wrote:

“As a licensed counselor, specializing in perinatal mental health, I need to continue gaining knowledge of the general psychological and physiological outcomes of pregnancy. I hope to complement perinatal treatment by utilizing age and developmentally appropriate counseling practices…My mission is to optimize maternal mental health and wellbeing by promoting and providing interdisciplinary, holistic perinatal mental health and substance abuse treatment to accompany obstetrical care….Part of my goals is to provide services to alleviate the intergenerational transmission of insecure mother-child attachment as insecure attachment styles may lead to an increased risk of mental health and substance use disorders.”
