Seleni Awards Over 100 Training Scholarships to Mental Health Professionals in 2021

January 2022 – New York, NY - In 2021, Seleni launched its Scholarship for Maternal Mental Health Professionals since the pandemic has demonstrated the urgency for more support for mothers, parents, and families everywhere.

Recognizing there is a growing need to equip mental health professionals with the critical knowledge to support mothers and their families, the training scholarships supported further education in this specialist branch of mental health.

The Seleni Scholarship provided access for the course, Maternal Mental Health Intensive for Young Parents: Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, at no cost. It was awarded to 106 mental health professionals throughout the year.

These scholars included social workers, doulas, midwives, nurses, lactation consultants, and many other health care professionals. As a group, the scholars represented 13 different countries and 23 US states. Most importantly, these mental health professionals serve over 1,916 patients per week on average. With the Seleni training they received through their scholarship they will be better prepared to serve this community of patients.

Seleni will launch its 2022 scholarship in the coming weeks, please follow our social media for an announcement.
